DBT is a structured, evidence-based approach, designed to help people manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and develop a greater sense of balance and stability in their lives. At Staniford Psychology, I do not offer a full DBT programme, but I draw on ideas and skills used in DBT.
DBT focuses on 4 main modules:
Mindfulness – staying present and grounded
Distress Tolerance – managing crises without making them worse
Emotion Regulation – understanding and reducing emotional intensity
Interpersonal Effectiveness – navigating relationships with confidence and clarity
